All the students of Mokelumne Hill Elementary school participated in a walkathon this morning (Friday, Sept. 28) to raise money for some much needed PE equipment. The fundraiser was organized by the PTO. The kids walked (ran, skipped, danced) around the field and around the playground for an hour.

A couple of changes /additions. One is simply for convenience - those of you who use the site often have noticed that we've added some local news RSS feeds to the right side ... which makes for a lot of scrolling if you want to add content or visit your account, etc. So I've added some shortcuts to the right sidebar at the very top. Check it out!

Population counting circa 1944! In the midst of all this planning talk recently, I think others might enjoy these tidbits from a book copyrighted in 1944 that shows just how far we've really come.

It's refreshing to read realistic information once in awhile!
