SANDY GULCH - Arsenic contamination in soil and water has put an end to dreams of a regional park with ball fields, hiking trails and picnic areas on a former lumber mill site in Sandy Gulch.

The Mokelumne Hill Community Trust will be conducting their regularly scheduled business meeting on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 7 p.m. in the Mokelumne Hill Library. Any interested persons are invited to attend.

Come and join Kris and MaryAnne for an action packed Children's Hour at the Moke Hill Library on the first and third Friday of each month from 12:30-1:30 p.m. We offer music, literacy activities, arts & crafts, snack, and other fun types of activities for children of all ages.
After the holidays and school break, we are back and ready to resume our Friday Children's Hour at the Moke Hill Library! Come join Kris and MaryAnne for an action packed hour of stories, music, arts & crafts, a snack, and just general good time. All children are welcome! If the walls of the town hall could talk - they would say a good time had by all! We brought in $ 7,500 from ticket and bar sales. Brenda Brown ran pledges back and forth to the stage for Randy to announce - and it totaled $5,500 !!! Our community members was so generous! And there is more...Robert Zucker, AMAZ Productions will purchase the new PA system for the hall when we are ready. In essence we raised $18,000 counting the PA savings - which the grant writiers estimated up to a $5.000 purchase.
Thanks to our group and all of you town hall lovers. It was a blast.
