Zai studio opens

Zachary Leslie and Sloane Dell'Orto have opened a small martial arts / tai chi / yoga studio in Moke Hill. It's located at 8085 Hwy 26 (at the corner of 49, in the Plaza). Current classes include yoga on Mondays (9:30 am and a 5:30 pm class) as well as T'ai chi on Tuesday evenings at 7pm. Seniors T'ai Chi is planned for two mornings a week, and martial arts classes will begin in the near future.

Hello from Valdelavilla, Spain

Hola, Friends! I have been using our Moke Hill website to show the folks here in Spain our beautiful town, thanks to the great photos on our website! I am over here as a volunteer tutor in a program called Pueblo Ingles. We "Anglos" are all volunteer tutors from the US and Canada, participating in an English immersion program for Spaniards, and it is quite an amazing experience so far.

Bertha S. Fischer died of natural causes Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at her home in Mokelumne Hill. She was 89.

Boylson Leads Project

The Rotary Club of Jackson, California as Sponsor Club will conduct a Pilot Project “Training the Trainers in Integrated Cooking Method”, with the Rotary Club 5 de Dezembro of Brasília, Brazil as Host Club and in partnership with the college “União Pioneira de Integração Social (UPIS Faculdades Integradas)” and the “Fraternidade Feminina Cruzeiro do Sul.”

Metzger's Market Opens

The season for fresh locally grown produce has begun, and we are opening our market starting Tuesday July 1st.

We are changing our weekly market day from Thursdays to Tuesdays from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
