Provencal Feast on the Patio in the Shenandoah Valley
to Benefit Foothill Conservancy
On Sunday, June 8, the Foothill Conservancy will hold its annual fundraising dinner on the beautiful grounds of Terre Rouge Winery in the Shenandoah Valley: a Provencal Feast on the Patio by Chef Jane O’Riordan. The event begins at 4 p.m. with a petanque/bocce ball tournament, followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m. The winery is located at 10801 Dickson Road, Plymouth.
In addition to the dinner and tournament, the event features fine Terre Rouge and Easton wines available from a no-host bar, an exciting raffle, live and silent auctions, and wonderful company.
Diners will enjoy olive tapenade, roast pork loin, roasted chicken/turkey sausages, a variety of vegetable and grain salads, the breads of Amador City’s Andrae’s Bakery, and dessert.
The event will include a raffle and silent auction featuring the exceptional goods and services of Amador and Calaveras County businesses and residents. An exciting live auction will feature four foothill Cultural Passport packages introducing the bounty our counties have to offer:
• Best of the Bypassed: Gifts from Amador City and Sutter Creek including a Chocolate Bombe Cake from famed dessert chef Ingrid Fraser, a $50 gift certificate to the Fine Eye Gallery, and a $250 gift certificate toward accommodations at the Fournier House in Sutter Creek.
• Calaveras Comestibles and Alimentary Amador: Food and wine from our counties' growers including weekly eggs from Butte Mountain Organic Farm, olive oils from Amador Olive Oil and Calaveras Olive Oil, fresh food from Paloma Pollinators.
• Queen for a Day: All things Murphys including wine, food and gift certificates.
• The Wild, Wild East: Overnight accommodations at the Kit Carson Lodge on beautiful Silver Lake and other adventure opportunities on the east side of our counties.
Silent auction items will include a turquoise spiral platter from nationally known ceramist James Aarons of Mokelumne Hill, Dr. Bob Hartmann’s famed Scottish shortbread, a one-month free membership to New York Fitness, and more. Valuable raffle items will range from free oil changes from Jeff Holman Auto to health care and wellness services.
Proceeds from the event, sponsored by Terre Rouge and Easton Wineries, support the Foothill Conservancy’s efforts to protect, restore, and sustain the natural and human environment in Amador and Calaveras counties for the benefit of current and future generations.
Tickets for the barbecue are $30 for adults, $10 for children under 12. For more information or ticket reservations, contact Susan Bragstad at 209-267-5506, send an e-mail to fhc@foothillconservancy.org or see www.foothillconservancy.org.
