A first time historic event, and the beginning of a county-wide ongoing design process. This Summit is the result of a tremendous effort from many individuals working together with a common goal of achieving an agreed upon future of economic diversity for Calaveras County.
The Summit will be held at Bret Harte High School on Friday, July 11th from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with a wrap-up session the following day on Saturday, July 12th from 9:00 am to 12:30.
The Summit will consist of panel discussions with moderators focusing on the seven primary areas of concern; Tourism, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Retail, Industry & Emerging Technology, Professional Services, Infrastructure and Social Capital. In each of these tracks, there will also be group work to develop an understanding of present realities and then to build a picture of a more desirable future. The morning panels will focus on an assessment of the assets and liabilities in each area and the afternoon sessions will explore opportunities. Together with some talented moderators, we hope to develop a common vision with Next Steps and a cohesive team to move forward.
We have also invited several speakers to address the group who have definitive experience in Economic Development. The cost to attend the Summit will be only $25.00 but reservations are required.
