All the students of Mokelumne Hill Elementary school participated in a walkathon this morning (Friday, Sept. 28) to raise money for some much needed PE equipment. The fundraiser was organized by the PTO. The kids walked (ran, skipped, danced) around the field and around the playground for an hour. Each child was encouraged to get pledges for the amount of laps completed.
Donations aren't due until after fall break (2 weeks), so if you're interested in donating toward the MHE physical education equipment fund, contact Sloane to arrange to pledge toward the walk! (Yes, we realize that it's after the fact, but flat donations are also welcome.) :)
Just in case you're interested, approximately six laps around the field equals one mile. The kids worked very hard; many children completed more than 20 laps!
