Organic groups are one of the very powerful features that make mokehill.com super duper high tech and cool.

Once you are a member of a particular group, you can easily add content to that group (instead of to the general public) directly from within the group menu.

When you're logged in, a "my groups" menu appears in the right hand navigation area. Click the group that you want to visit. When you click on the specific group, another special menu appears on the right, above the My groups menu. (You'll have to click on the title to expand it.) This menu allows you to post content directly to that group -- so that many of the things you can do through the "Create content" link under the Nav menu can also be done directly in your group via the Group nav bar.

It also has a cool “invite a friend” feature that allows you to invite other people to join your group. If you invite them from within a group, they’ll be automatically entered into your group when they apply for an account at the site by clicking the link you sent them!

(Note: if you want to invite a friend to the SITE without inviting them directly to your GROUP, use the "invite a friend" link under the Nav menu - the one with your name on it.)

Event with Volunteer Timeslot is a great tool. If you create an event w/timeslots, you can sign up your group members (or they can sign themselves up) for projects, etc. Very cool. Both regular events and events with volunteer timeslots can be posted only to your group; this makes them invisible on the calendar to anyone NOT a member of your group. If you post them as public, everyone can see them.

More group activities will be added soon!
