On Monday night fans of the New Christy Minstrels Under the Direction of Randy Sparks and Moke Hill alike filled the Town Hall in a great show of support for the Town Hall Restoration Project. Spirits were high and a great time was had by all. The event put our town $8,000 closer to reaching fundraising goals that will support the renovation of the Hall. The event couldn’t have been done without a great showing of community interest and collaboration. Contributing volunteers include The New Christy Minstrels Under the Direction of Randy Sparks (all proceeds went to the Town Hall), the “Raising the Roof” Committee (a group of local individuals—Joyce Peek, Mary Kate McCartney, Brenda Brown, Celeste Garamendi and Cheri Garamendi—who are committed to restoring the Town Hall), the Mokelumne Hill Community Trust, the Mokelumne Hill Lions Club, the Mokelumne Hill Veterans’ Memorial District, Kevin & Marta Brady (artist and emcee), Debbie Shore, (Town Hall decorator), Mary Jane Garamendi (dessert diva), as well as the overall generosity and spirit of our Mokelumne Hill Community. Community members volunteered to make desserts, bartend, work the door, sell tickets and help set-up and clean-up after the show.
Wine from very generous local wineries was donated and helped contribute to event’s success. These wineries included: French Hill Winery, Boitano Family Wines, Broll Mountain Vineyards, Chatom Vineyards, Ironstone Vineyards, Newsome-Harlow, Hatcher Winery, Twisted Oak Winery, Willow Creek Winery, Hidden Jewel Winery and Milliare Winery.
A huge thank you to everyone for making this event happen!
