A group of current and former residents of Mokelumne Hill met to share some of the colorful history and personal stories of the Mokelumne Hill town hall, the general area, and people of Moke Hill. The meeting took place Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the town hall. Storytellers present were Marian Hewitt, Bill and Freddie Ann Maasberg, Irene Bondsteel, Romida Swanson. Mike Dell'Orto, Kris Ford and Maryanne Garamendi were also present; Maryanne provided breakfast. During the meeting the group was visited by the teacher Dan Stoddard and the Mokelumne Hill Elementary 4th grade class, who were touring town and discussing Mokelumne Hill's history.

The get together was recorded by Ralph Barnes. Future meetings are planned and will also be recorded to be part of a living history presentation to be later shown on Calaveras Community Television.

The next meeting of the Storytellers will be Tuesday, October 23rd, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Mokelumne Hill town hall.
